Description
Lemon geranium is a wonderfully fragrant plant with strongly citrus-scented leaves. Brush against the foliage and it releases a fresh lemony aroma.
Important: Plants sold as “citronella geranium” can be different Pelargonium cultivars, and some sources specifically warn against treating Pelargonium citrosum as an edible herb. So before we put recipes on your page, I’d identify your exact plant.
Simple Use
Plant near paths, patios or seating areas where the leaves can be brushed and enjoyed for their fragrance.
Tammy’s tip: Despite its reputation, simply owning a citronella geranium does not create a mosquito force field. Research has found the living plant itself isn’t an effective mosquito repellent.
