Description

Pekin Ducks

Pekin Ducks are one of the world’s most popular domestic duck breeds, prized for their calm temperament, rapid growth, and excellent productivity. Instantly recognisable by their bright white plumage and cheerful orange bills and feet, Pekins are a fantastic choice for homesteads, small farms, and families alike.

Traditionally bred as a dual-purpose breed, Pekin Ducks are valued for both their high-quality meat and their large, creamy white eggs. Hens are dependable layers, while the breed’s fast growth and sturdy build have made it one of the most widely kept meat ducks around the world.

Our Pekin Ducks are raised with plenty of space to roam, forage, and enjoy fresh water. Their friendly, inquisitive nature makes them enjoyable to keep, whether you’re looking to produce food, control garden pests, or simply enjoy a flock of characterful waterfowl.

Male & Female Differences

While both sexes share the breed’s iconic white appearance, there are a few easy ways to tell them apart.

Drakes (males) are generally larger and heavier, with broader heads and thicker necks. Mature drakes develop one or more curled tail feathers, often called the drake curl, and have a quieter, raspier voice.
Ducks (females) are slightly smaller and more streamlined, lack the curled tail feathers, and produce the familiar loud “quack.” They are excellent layers of large white eggs throughout much of the year.
