Description
Sugar cane is a tall tropical grass grown for the naturally sweet juice stored inside its thick, fibrous stalks. The sugar is concentrated in the stalk itself, particularly toward the lower part of the cane.
Fresh sugar cane can be peeled and chewed, pressed for juice, used to sweeten drinks, made into syrup, or cut into swizzle sticks for cocktails and cold drinks.
A little tip: The cane itself is very fibrous be careful when blending. When chewing fresh sugar cane, enjoy the sweet juice but don’t swallow the fibres.
