Our pigs form an important part of life at Flying Goose Homestead. We keep Kolbroek, Duroc and European-type pigs, along with crosses between these lines.

Each brings something a little different to the homestead, from the hardy and traditional Kolbroek to the meat qualities associated with Duroc-type pigs.

We try to make practical use of what the homestead provides, whether raising pigs for breeding, the table, or making simple products such as rendered lard and traditional-style sausages.

Availability naturally changes throughout the year.
