Mint

Fresh Mint: R10 / bunch
Dried Mint: R25 / 20 g
Mint Pot: R50

Description

Mint is one of the easiest herbs to recognise and one of the easiest to actually use.

Its fresh leaves work beautifully in drinks, teas, fruit salads, sauces and desserts. Mint can also be dried for tea and herbal blends.

Mint grows enthusiastically. Sometimes too enthusiastically. Growing it in a pot or contained area can stop it quietly annexing the garden.

A little tip: Gently crush fresh mint leaves before adding them to drinks to release their aroma.

Mint Lemon Water

Ingredients

8 to 10 fresh mint leaves
½ lemon
1 litre cold water
Ice, optional

Method

Gently crush the mint leaves.

Slice the lemon.

Add everything to a jug of cold water.

Leave for 15 to 30 minutes before drinking.

Tammy’s tip: This is the easiest possible use for mint. No cooking, no measuring crisis, just put the leaves in the water.
